Norwich vs Liverpool
Liverpool will kick off their Premier League campaign a week today.
The Reds will face off with newly-promoted Norwich at Carrow Road at 5:30 PM UK time on Saturday, August 14th.
Liverpool would also kick-off their 2019/20 tittle-winning campaign with a clash vs Norwich, which they won.
And Jurgen Klopp’s side are no doubt hoping for a similar outcome this term after their fairly dismal title defence last time out.
Thiago’s injury update
Ahead of the new season getting underway, Thiago has been speaking about his injury issues.
The Spaniard did not have the most spectacular debut campaign in England. But part of the reason for this may have been due to a previous injury he had picked up.
When speaking recently, Thiago discussed how he started 2020/21 with an issue around his hamstring that was never fully fixed and as the season wore on, he began to feel it more and more:
“The last season I started with – from a long time before that – some pain up there in the hamstring, between the glutes, old pain. I was never clean to play because I was always with that pain and there’s a point during the end of the last season that I started to feel [it] more and more.
“And with the national team, even I couldn’t sprint in some terms, I couldn’t do some actions.”
However, since returning from Euro 2020, Thiago has been working with the medical team and on an individual workload to fix said issue:
“So I try to start the pre-season, always in agreement with the medical team, to [do] individual work to clean the area a bit more and to be without more pain.
“So we are at that point now that we try to take it out and, at the same point, to stay with the team.”
And when asked if he was felt the benefit from that already, the former Bayern Munich star suggested he is aiming to be fit for the first game of the seaosn vs Norwich:
“Sure. I think we will try to reach the first game of the season, for sure.”
