Thomas Tuchel has revealed that he hasn't contacted Julian Nagelsmann after he was sacked as he doesn't want to be disrespectful.
Bayern Munich surprisingly parted ways with Nagelsmann, 35, on Friday and wasted no time in bringing in former Chelsea coach Tuchel in a deal until 2025.
The German, 49, goes straight into crucial games, starting with title rival - and Tuchel's former club - Borussia Dortmund on April 1.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Tuchel said he had not spoken to Nagelsmann out of respect.
'I can certainly empathize with him, but it's not my responsibility. Contact with him? Certainly not right away,' he told a news conference.
'I don't want to be disrespectful. It doesn't help me to have his point of view now either. At some point our paths will cross and we'll talk.'
Tuchel also boldly targeted winning a treble with the Bundesliga club this season.
He said: 'It's an honour and a distinction to be asked by Bayern Munich. I've been in very close contact with Bayern before.
'But back then I couldn't wait. It would never be appropriate to pressure anyone. Things went very quickly this time, it's a top solution for me.
'The timing was surprising, I didn't expect it and there was no contact beforehand. I assumed that I would continue my career abroad.
'The first interview was on Tuesday evening. The size of the challenge was the deciding factor that I wanted to do it.
'We don't really have much time. I probably won't see the internationals until Friday. Winning all titles is still possible.
'Therefore, it will be all about the details. I have an idea of what to do and I'm really looking forward to it. It's about playing for all titles.
'Even when you work abroad for a while, you become even more aware of the importance of FC Bayern. It's one of the biggest clubs in Europe and the world.
'That's a big responsibility too. 'In the end there's also a personal reason for me to work here close to my family and in the state where I was born.
'There are many reasons that made me accept quickly'.
Bayern Munich's sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić and CEO Oliver Kahn were also present at the press conference to speak on Tuchel's arrival.
Salihamidzic said: 'I called Thomas on Tuesday. Thomas picked up the phone and asked: "What do you want?" I then said: "If you don't feel like it, I'll hang up." But Thomas was hot.
'We then met met in the evening, talked about everything and then everything happened very quickly in the past two days.
'We talked before three or four years ago, but unfortunately it didn't work out then. This time, because Thomas wanted to immediately and so did we, of course.'

Somebody should tell Tuchel that, this is how life is, somebody is sacked and somebody replaces. Now that he is replacing Someone in a big club, he is happy and the one that lost his job to him is sad....but you don't see or hear negelsman complaining here and there. When Chelsea sacked tuchel, he as busy giving words like I saw Chelsea as my home, I wanted to develop the youth team and graduate them into the senior team making everyone the bad person....but the reality was that your work was poor as at the time they were sacking you and the club was in crises and needed something done to save it's image Negelsman has won Ucl 8/8 matches, won last year's league, 2 German supercup but still they sacked him for you because they saw he sought of used the club for some kind of a project work. Today different formation, tomorrow another....he had about more than 20 tactics he was using for the team...and Because of that they were losing some matches they could have won easily..... the club is a big club which must be identified with a particular system so that players can give their best. They sacked him because the board saw that they were losing their identity on the field of play. Somebody goes so that another can come....So he should shut up when it is his time to go.
That's not the case my dear There's a lot of under problem from changing of management to all other background problems. Moreso,Tuchel didn't see enough support in Chelsea owner as reversed to the new coach who even reversed Chelsea stand on the table to 10th while Tuchel was there we were 6th on the table

Bayern paid a world-record €25m to Leipzig to get Nagelsmann out of contract and gave him a five-year contract worth €8m a season 😳
