After a successful 2-0 victory at home against Porto in the Champions League, Liverpool host Chelsea in the Premier League. The Reds will have to keep the pressure on Manchester City, who are on quite a roll in the Premier League.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are back in the hunt for a top 3 finish after Arsenal slipped up against Everton last week. The Blues are on a three-game unbeaten run in the Premier League and look to continue that on Sunday against Liverpool.
Here are 3 key areas where the game could potentially be decided at Anfield on Sunday.
Mo Salah vs Marcos Alonso
Salah finally broke his goal drought after scoring against Southampton last weekend. The Egyptian, despite a dry patch, has scored 21 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions so far.
He will be high on confidence after the goal and he will be Liverpool's biggest threat in the attack.
Marcos Alonso has had a difficult season so far and it won't get any easy when he comes face to face with Salah at the weekend. Alonso will have to be at his very best to stop the Egyptian and any lapse in judgement could cost Chelsea dearly.
Eden Hazard vs Trent Alexander-Arnold
Arguably the most interesting battle on the pitch on Sunday. Eden Hazard has been at his best in recent games having scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist in his last two games.
The Belgian has been directly involved in 31 goals in all competitions and if he has a good game, Chelsea will have a good game.
Trent Alexander-Arnold's rise to fame in the last two years has been remarkable. The 20-year-old has 7 assists to his name so far in the league but his defensive contribution is what will be of massive importance on Sunday.
The Englishman has to bring his A-game on Sunday and if he contains the Belgian, Liverpool will surely have the upper hand.
Jordan Henderson vs Jorginho
Potentially the most important battle of the game. Henderson has regained his form recently and his presence in the middle of the park will be massively important for the Reds on Sunday.
If Henderson marks Jorginho like Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey did earlier this season, the Italian will massively struggle and so will Chelsea.
However, Jorginho has overcome his poor first half of the season and has been in decent form recently. If allowed any space in the midfield, Jorginho will control the game and his brilliant range of passing can seriously hurt Liverpool.

Liverpool are to the point of the season that they need to pick up all points from their last five games as they are two points ahead of City, but City have one more game left, meaning that even if Liverpool wins out, City could win out and still win the title with a total of 98 points to Liverpool’s 97... So basically, Liverpool need to be both good and lucky and hope that City will hit a stumbling block, most likely against either Tottenham (20/4) or Man United (24/4), while Liverpool has the Chelsea game and Wolves on the last day of the season. Should be a thrilling end to the season... However, Chelsea also need to win this game, as they will are still in the race for Champions League. With upcoming matches against Man United and Watford, Chelsea will need to remain focused, although they do have some leeway as they are still in the Europa League and will get an automatic spot for winning... A draw will do neither team any favors.. good luck for both👍👊

The Fourth Key Battle should be; The Smoker VS The Hugger. It'd be a touchline Battle between a man who knows how to Smoke and Play Good Players out of Position VS a man who knows how to Manage a Team with high Pressing but always unlucky in the End. Hopefully his Bad Luck ends this time around and he wins the League

For me its Salah vs Hazard more than Chelsea vs Liverpool... Hazard is having a form of his life while Salah is having a poor form... Hazard can edge Salah here and require his status of best player in the premier league..But considering the quality of Salah even if he is in the poor form,he is still edging Hazard in terms of goals.. Its a battle...I would sit back and enjoy

If another Liverpool player slips again, it won't be our fault. So tell Liverpool players to avoid bananas 🍌 and okra.

This should probably not to be 'THE BATTLE' 1) I think the battle should be Emerson against Salah then salah will have a difficult time getting key passes to firmino or Mane 2)Jorginho is against J henderson but if Kante will play in his position then 'THE BATTLE' Will be Kante again J Henderson Milner and firmino and every single player having the ball in the chelsea half 3) Hazard will be having a hard time as Liverpool focus is all on Hazard. They will no doubt stop Hazard brong in ke passes so Hudson Odoi should step up and bring in the dribbling passes and Giroud should be selected and Higuain should be dropped then Chelsea will have a chance to win 4) i like Luiz play in the defensive role but when i see Christenson i see perfection i dont know i might be wrong but i think Christenson is a very good defender and should start the game

The key battles are. 1) Emerson/Azpi vs Salah/Mane 2) Odoi vs Robertson (if Sarri plays Odoi) 3) Ruben vs Liverpool midfield 4) Higuain vs Van Dijk every other battle is one where you know we either win or lose but these are the 4 crucial battles to our victory...
