Marcus Thuram believes his recent scoring streak is the result of gaining a "confidence booster" by scoring for France after helping Inter secure a 4-3 win over Como.
Inter moved nine points clear at the top of Serie A, but they had to do it the hard way after going 2-0 down in the first half thanks to Alex Valle and Nico Paz.
Thuram scored a brace on either side of half-time to draw Inter level, though, with Denzel Dumfries getting a double of his own to flip the script, and that was enough to secure all three points after Lucas da Cunha's late penalty.
Since the start of last season, Thuram has scored at least twice in six Serie A matches (five braces, one hat-trick), more than any other player.
He is now up to 10 goals for the season in Serie A. Since he arrived in the league in 2023-24, he is one of only two players to reach double figures in each of the last three campaigns (also Lautaro Martinez).
Thuram broke his international duck during the recent break, netting his first goal for France since 2023, and he was thrilled to continue his fine form in front of goal by helping Inter push towards the Scudetto.
"It was good to have a change of scenery, but above all to score for France, that gave me a confidence booster, and I've taken it with me to Inter," Thuram told DAZN.
"Did I really score 10 goals? I usually do it a bit earlier in the season, but I got there eventually."
Inter have won a Serie A away game after trailing by two goals for the first time since March 2013, against Catania.
It is also the second time they have won a match when having to overturn a two-goal deficit in the league this term, following their 6-2 victory over Pisa in January.
"Being able to suffer and react as a team is a great sign, and this is a very important victory for us. However, until it is mathematically official, we cannot say anything has been achieved yet," Thuram added.
Como, who saw their seven-game unbeaten streak snapped, missed the chance to leapfrog Juventus into fourth as they continue to chase a Champions League spot.
It was the first time they have lost when going two goals up in Serie A, while they have now lost five consecutive home games to Inter in the competition.
Despite the disappointing result, head coach Cesc Fabregas took positives from their performance, hailing his side's fight.
"I don't know what position we are in the table, because I haven't checked since the start of the season, and I'm not going to now," Fabregas told DAZN Italia.
"My team once again proved it is courageous, eager, and even in defeat showed character. It's true we made mistakes, but this is a young team, and we were up against an opponent that will penalise you for every error.
"I think talking about tactics today is not appetising to me, because we did our talking on the pitch. I like to look at statistics, and not many sides manage 20 shots on goal against Inter.
"If you had told me two years ago that we'd be challenging Inter like this, I'd have assumed we had organised a friendly match, but we are fighting them on an even playing field."
