The Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB made fun of the Manchester United striker in a star-studded World Cup commercial that was released this Friday which features Jon Hamm as Santa Claus, Ellie Kemper as Mrs. Clause, Mariah Carey as herself, and many more.
The tv spot is for the FIFA World Cup, which will begin on November 20, and features the Buccaneers quarterback's joke about Ronaldo's age.
Brady's "criticism" of CR7
The video shows Cristiano Ronaldo, wearing the Portugal national team jersey and scoring a set-piece goal. Then Brady appears, in the kitchen while eating a stick of celery and pokes fun at his age saying "he's getting a little old, isn't he?"
Although this season has not been the best for CR7, he is still considered to be one of the top soccer stars in the world and one of the references of the last few years.
Brady says he could play until he was 50
Brady, meanwhile, is 45 years old and has been an NFL player for more than 20 years, and despite his age, he is still active and among the best passers in the league. He himself has even said in some interviews that he could play until after the age of 50.
Brady will watch the FIFA World Cup
Brady joins other stars in the commercial for Qatar 2022, which features others preparing for the World Cup, and when interviewed he mentioned that "I'm a huge fan of all these athletes, and seeing them perform is really special. It was great to be a part of FOX Sports' ad campaign. So, when the games get going, I'll be watching the world's best compete at the highest level in the World Cup."
