Messi just need 15 goals to be 3rd highest international scorer. I think he can score 15 goals b4 he retires. But I doubt very much he will catch CR7. Not to disrespect or remove shine from the great CR7 ,but he does benefit a lot from playing against those minority teams such as Lithuania, Malta, Estonia, Luxembourg,Macedonia, etc in competitive games. Messi also does play against minority teams but not as much as Cr7. Games are almost always at the same level in South America bcos all the teams are placed in one group for any qualifiers. So Argentina gets to play all of such teams such Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, Chile, etc while the many, many teams in Europe means Portugal can win Euro without playing Spain, Germany, Netherlands etc. Respect both CR7 and Messi though.

Messi 6th Ballon d'or, 6th Pichichi, 6th fifa best award, UEFA best forward award, 6th golden shoes, best player of the decade, highest assist provider and highest goals scorer of decade had settled the debate! [ko] You guys should crawl back to your holes and continue to enjoy your pains and lick your wound secretly! Presently Messi still highest goals scorer and highest assist provider but currently Ronaldo has only 5 goals in SereaA and ranked 17 goals scorer! Unfortunately Ronaldo can never win any individual awards again, he last won golden shoe in 2015, 5 years back. He belong to the past, to the last decade, he is expired and Stat validated it. Game over! [Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh]π π π π

You have crowned Messi with so many superlatives but he is a club player. He has a small contribution to the Argentinian national cause. So none should compare him with Ronaldo.Throughout his careers he is playing for Barcelona and his achievement is for a club only. Whereas Ronaldo played for his country, played for Manchester United, Real Madrid and now playing in Juventus. Everywhere he has proved his worth. So no talk about Ronaldo. It is just like character assassination to compare him with Messi. He May get seven Ballon de Ore, ten Golden Boot, etc. but he should not be compared with Ronaldo, Pele, Maradona, the football Legends of all times.

What a myopic sense of reasoning. Any club that defeats a big club is bigger. Portugal won France in final to win d Euro's. France defeated Germany who defeated other big teams. It implies that Portugal was strong to do so. To say how big France is, they're the world champion today, in the tournament your so called south American teams were involved. How many South American teams made it to semi-final. If CR7 Portugal meets messi Argentina, CR7's national goal tally will increase while messi's national games tally will increase. Finaly, no one is talking about clubs played against here, we're talking about goals scored. CR7 is 2nd and messi is 3rd, period. As for d 15 goals, let him score let's see.
