Torino set to name former AC Milan ace Ignazio Abate as new manager

Torino are reportedly set to name former AC Milan defender Ignazio Abate as their new manager.

The now 39-year-old made 304 appearances during his time at AC Milan, winning two Serie A titles in the process.

Abate started his managerial career with his former side’s under-19s before moving on to Ternana and then Juve Stabia.

He impressed during his time at Juve Stabia, guiding them to a seventh-place finish in Serie A before being knocked out of the play-offs by Monza.

According to [a href="https://www.calciomercato.com/notizie/torino-abate-il-preferito-per-la-panchina-inseguono-juric-e-di-francesco/bltefd532a3487176b9"]Fabrizio Romano[/a], Abate is now set to take over at Torino following a meeting between sporting director Gianluca Petrachi and president Urbano Cairo on Monday.

It’s understood that he will put pen to paper on a two-year deal at the club.
