Having sent the nation's children to sleep with his CBeebies bedtime story about a mouse that roared it is time for Harry Kane to reawaken Tottenham's European dreams.

Having scored the only goal at Brighton on Saturday to take his Premier League tally for the season to eight, he goes in search of his first Champions League goals for almost three years as Spurs take on Eintracht Frankfurt.

And having launched his own charitable foundation on World Mental Health day, with an animated film about his own determined journey to the top through adversity, Kane confessed he was still inspired by his rejection from Arsenal, more than 20 years ago.

'It's always been part of my personality to prove people wrong,' said Kane. 'When you look back on my career, going out on loan and the things I had to achieve to get to where I am now, for sure, that's part of my identity.

'It's a really important message for any young boys or girls. There are going be knocks along the way. There's going to be ups and downs, but it's about how you cope with that, keep working and keep moving forward.

'My personality is to prove, not just people wrong, but to myself that I can be the best that I know I can be.'

It is a busy time to be Harry Kane. All of the above plus the significant matter of leading England into a World Cup, next month, where he plans to wear the OneLove armband FIFA are trying to stop in an attempt by the FA to promote inclusion and protest against the homophobic policies of host nation Qatar.

'We want to wear it and that's our thought process going forward,' said Kane, on Tuesday. 'It will be down to FIFA and I'm sure the FA will be in contact with them. I've not heard anything personally. At the moment, we're in line to wear it.'

First though, to the business of negotiating progress from what has become a tight four-way contest in their Champions League group, and Antonio Conte is demanding Kane imposes his fine Premier League form onto upcoming home fixtures against Eintracht on Wednesday night and Sporting Lisbon, in a fortnight.

'Harry has started the season really well,' said Spurs boss Conte. 'And we are working to continue and improve because I know he can take big, big levels. He is a really important player, scoring goals in the Premier League and we need his goals also in the Champions League.

'My demands are high but we have one way to be, to try to be competitive in this tournament.'

Tottenham have taken four points and scored only twice in three Group D games. They lost to Sporting in Lisbon, drew with Eintracht in Frankfurt and beat Marseille at home, but they will be well set if they take maximum points from their next two fixtures, both at home.

Ten points should be enough to qualify for the knock-out stages and may even enable the manager to rotate his squad and rest some players in the final game, in Marseille.

'We need to exploit these two games,' said Conte. 'In our mind and in our heart there is only one thought, to go to the next round. And my players know we have the possibility to do it but, for sure, we have to show we deserve to go through.'

Lucas Moura and Dejan Kulusevski are both back in training after injuries. Moura will start among the substitutes against Eintracht Frankfurt but Kulusevski is not expected to return to action before Saturday's game against Everton.
