Tottenham star James Maddison responds to Arsenal concern after Man United win

The 26-year-old was clear and to the point about his past history as a rumoured Arsenal fan

Tottenham's marquee signing of the summer transfer window James Maddison has taken to social media to address a rumour surrounding him and his supposed past of being an Arsenal fan.

The 26-year-old arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month for a reported fee of £40 million following Leicester City's relegation from the top flight last season and has already made a huge impact in a Spurs shirt.

However, those with a Spurs bias might love him even more now that he appears to have shedded rumours of him being an Arsenal fan in the past.

In an Instagram post after the win over Man United, Maddison shared a photo of him and Son with the caption: "Come on you Effinnn Spurs" alongside a face emoji and a white heart.

Due to the rumour, many in the comment section were questioning him about his past as a Gunners fan but he quickly stamped out the rumour in one swift response.

In the comment under his own post, he wrote: "I've never in my life been a Gooner, just for the record."

Maddison might be set for a spell on the sidelines with reports suggesting he'll undergo a scan for a foot injury he picked up over the weekend after he was spotted leaving Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a foot brace.
