Liverpool and Chelsea fans showed immense support for Ukraine during pre-match applause at Wembley ahead of the Carabao Cup final.

The Liverpool fans were in great voice belting out the club anthem of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' during a minute's applause whilst the Ukraine flag was on the Wembley screen with the message of 'Football Stands Together'.

Both sets of fans came to the final equipped with messages of solidarity or Ukrainian flags in an incredible showing of support ahead of their match.

The Liverpool and Chelsea players and managers took a picture beforehand as the captains placed a wreath with the Ukrainian colours in front of them further showing their support.

Wembley was decorated with customised banners and flags with messages for the country that is being invaded by Vladimir Putin's Russia.

Perhaps the most touching tribute was the singing from the Liverpool fans, who belted out their anthem whilst the Ukraine flag was on display during the pre-match minutes applause.

This is just another example of the conflict reaching the realms of the Premier League after West Ham showed their support for player Andriy Yarmolenko before kick-off on Sunday.

West Ham players rallied together in a show of support for team-mate Andriy Yarmolenko ahead of their Premier League match against Wolves, after he was granted compassionate leave following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Absent for today's game, Yarmolenko was treated to a touching display from the Hammers' squad. For their warm-ups at the London Stadium, they adorned shirts with his name and number emblazoned on the back.
