Igor Tudor has laughed off the criticism he has faced as Tottenham head coach, insisting the solution is not to sack him.
The Croatian head coach has lost each of his first four games in charge of Spurs, with their 5-2 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid the latest of six consecutive losses in all competitions.
Tottenham have lost each of their last five Premier League games; only in February 1994 (seven) and November 2004 (six) have they ever suffered 6+ successive defeats in their league history.
Spurs are also the only side without a Premier League win so far in 2026, drawing four and losing seven of their 11 games.
Only five times has a team gone longer without a win from the start of a calendar year in the competition – Crystal Palace in 2016 (12) and 2023 (12), Middlesbrough in 2017 (14), Sunderland in 2003 (17) and Derby in 2008 (18).
Pressure has grown on Tudor, with Spurs reportedly already looking for replacements, but the head coach has warned the club against sacking him.
"People think a new coach will come in and things will change and the problems will resolve," Tudor told Sky Sports.
"It makes me laugh.
"When people want a new coach, it's a new hope. People always want new hope that things will change but the reality is totally different. The reality is not that.
"In this world where everyone has an opinion, you can never win. But as coaches we have to focus on what we can change. We need to stay calm and believe in ourselves."
Next up for Spurs is a trip to Liverpool, and Tudor will be without Cristian Romero, Joao Palhinha and the suspended Micky van de Ven at Anfield.
When asked if he has been unlucky with absentees at Spurs since his arrival, Tudor said: "I don't believe in that stuff.
"But there's too much. Every game, two or three players are out.
"Sometimes it is not easy to understand the reasons. Sometimes you understand the problems and I recognise them, but it's been difficult.
"It is what it is and we need to accept that. We need to see it as a challenge and not cry."
