According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Milan will restart their search for a new sporting director after missing out on Marcus Krösche.

After Marcus Krösche's appointment as sporting director fell through, Milan was forced to restart the selection process to find a new technical director. The new sporting director must approve the club's decision to appoint Rúben Amorim as Milan's head coach.

The Rossoneri find themselves in an unusual situation; they've faced repeated setbacks while simultaneously needing to accelerate the process, as the team will begin its summer training camp on July 12. Milan has already accumulated significant delays.

José Boto currently coaches Flamengo. Like Amorim, he is Portuguese and shares a common history with the new Milan coach from their time together at Benfica. In recent hours, intermediaries have recommended him to Gerry Cardinale; Boto is a credible candidate.

José Boto's outstanding characteristic is his ability to identify players' potential before they break through at the highest level. Scouts have long considered him one of the best in his generation. Throughout his career, he has worked at various clubs, including Shakhtar Donetsk, PAOK, and Osijek, accumulating extensive experience.

Attention should also be paid to Sebastian Kehl, who ended his playing career at Dortmund three months ago, and whose philosophy aligns closely with Krösche's approach. Kehl, born in Fulda, Germany, in 1980, could be an excellent fit for Milan. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Jason Wilcox, who recently left Brighton, is also among the potential candidates and has been recommended by an intermediary.
