According to Tuttosport, Internazionale had scouted several Roma players, and Kone had once agreed to terms, but the deal was eventually called off. Internazionale did not bid for Svilar to Roma, nor did they open official negotiations, but the club's management had considered signing the Serbian goalkeeper, especially in the summer of 2025, before Svilar renewed his contract with Roma. Last season, Internazionale also evaluated candidates to replace Sommer.
From Hermoso to G. Mancini, Roma's defenders have always been on Internazionale's radar. In 2024, Hermoso, whose contract expired with Atletico Madrid, was very close to joining Internazionale. An agreement had been reached between the two parties, but Ausilio called off the plan to sign free agents over 30. At that time, Internazionale had also considered Ricardo Rodriguez, who was leaving Torino.
This summer, Internazionale scouted N'Dicka and G. Mancini. N'Dicka was on Internazionale's list of evaluated center-backs, which also included Soule, Romero, Chalobah, and Odonez, before Internazionale accelerated their pursuit of Stones. In early July, Internazionale had secret contact with G. Mancini's agents. G. Mancini's original contract was set to expire in 2027, and his agent, Beppe Riso, recently stated: "My plan was for G. Mancini to leave Roma, because we did receive important offers. I told him that in my opinion he was crazy, but he loves Roma." G. Mancini then renewed his contract with Roma until 2029 in July.
Molina was once seen by Internazionale as a potential replacement for Dumfries. In the spring, Internazionale president Marotta also considered signing Pellegrini, whose contract expired last June, to further strengthen the team's Italian player lineup.
But Internazionale's real target in the summer of 2025 is Kone. Ausilio had reached an agreement with then-Roma sporting director Massara around August 15 for 40 million euros plus bonuses, but after fan protests, Roma called off the deal.
Also in 2025, before deciding to keep Pio Esposito and pushing through the Bonny transfer, Internazionale considered Castro, in addition to Hojlund, and saw him as a kind of successor to Lautaro. Dybala was also a target for Internazionale. In June 2022, when Dybala had just left Juventus, his agent had already agreed on a contract worth 6 million euros per year at Internazionale's headquarters. Then Steven Zhang hesitated, Inzaghi was not fully convinced, and with Correa unable to leave, Internazionale ultimately opted to re-loan Lukaku.
