According to TyC Sports Argentina reporter Gastón Edul, Chelsea goalkeeper Damián Martínez has suffered a jaw injury and will undergo surgery.
Reporter Gastón Edul previously stated that Damián Martínez is in good condition and conscious in the hospital. His head CT scan, as well as examinations of his back and neck, showed no issues. He suffered an injury to his jawbone and therefore needs to remain hospitalized.
The reporter later provided a further update on the Chelsea goalkeeper’s condition: “The results of several key tests were all reassuring. The relatively minor concern is an injury to his lower jaw, for which he will undergo surgery.”
During the match against Everton, Emiliano Martínez clashed heads with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite in the second half. He was subsequently stretchered off and taken to hospital.
