The United States recorded the biggest ever victory in the Fifa Women's World Cup as they crushed Thailand 13-0.
The 2015 winners were 3-0 up at half-time, scored four times in 10 minutes in the second half and then added six more goals in the last 16 minutes.
Alex Morgan scored five times for the United States with two goals apiece for Rose Lavelle and Samantha Mewis.
Lindsey Horan, Megan Rapinoe, Mallory Pugh and Carli Lloyd also scored to beat Germany's 11-0 win over Argentina.
The United States' previous biggest win in the tournament was a 7-0 success over Chinese Taipei in 1991, while Germany's thrashing of Argentina came in 2007.

How do I begin this conversation.... firstly, I agree it was unnecessarily humiliating to Thailand. Let us look at it from a number of angles. Thailand can be considered comparably a novelty to football, let alone international football. US is a giant, if not the giant in this arena, and humiliating Thailand, a no standing team doesn't elevate nor promote that status, to the contrary, hurt it. When a team can score four goals so casually and seemingly without forethought in rapid succession, and having three reserve ones, shows absolute dominance. Infact, how many times was the US goal shown or the goalie touched the ball during the entire game? Thailand is a country first and a team second, to humiliate the team is to equally humiliate a nation of people. After those four sudden "slapping" goals it was beyond clear that Thailand could no longer "foot" the ball. Let me paint a picture as it may tell it simply. Two people goes into a "fight", but before the fight starts, it's a foregone conclusion to any observers who know both "fighters", say fighter U and fighter T. During the fight, U knocks T out flat on the canvas to the point of helplessness. Yet, U continues to pick T up, by now barely able to stand on his strength and repeatedly knock him out. Good sportsmanship is not only winning in style and without rancor, but with class and honor, thus preserving the integrity of the victor, and also at the same time preserving the dignity and respect of the loser, thereby elevating the spirit of the sport as well.

I disagree with you on grounds that in every tournament, there's a race for the golden boot. Players need goals to get the boot. Everyone is fighting for it, so it doesn't matter how much you beat opponents.
