Manchester United fans are in revolt over the club's transfer policy and have vented their anger by getting #WoodwardOut to trend on Twitter.
Red Devils supporters are unhappy with executive vice chairman Ed Woodward, suggesting he has done a poor job of trying to strengthen United's squad this summer.
United have not announced any signings on deadline day so far, with Romelu Lukaku heading out of Old Trafford in a £72million deal.
One fan has named Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure, Sporting's Bruno Fernandes and new Tottenham signing Tanguy Ndombele in a list of 11 players who 'would have improved' United's midfield.
It is understood United have pursued Fernandes throughout the summer, but they must act quickly if they are to strengthen their midfield before the deadline.
United have undoubtedly improved their defensive options, signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire, and hae injected pace up front by recruiting Daniel James.
Another disgruntled supporter tweeted: 'If you’re in charge of the worlds biggest football club and haven’t come close to a league title in your 6 year time in charge. You have to look at yourself and admit you can’t do your job'.
The fan attached a picture of the 'Ed Woodward - a specialist in failure' banner which United fans flew over Turf Moor in September 2018.
One person simply posted: 'Too many failed transfer windows means this man has got to go'.

I know Woodward is not popular but United can’t keep buying star players because so many so called star players are only chasing the money as United have found out, we have very good academy players coming through eg greenwood, Chong, Gomes, Garner, laird etc we need to blood these players now, 1 they love United and 2 have huge potential, the class of 92 weren’t successful straight away but look how they turned out for United, United’ have tried buying for 6yrs and it has not worked, we will have a little bit of pain to start with, but I am extremely confident in this squad plus academy players that United will get back to the top, so forget about Woodward and just support Ole and the boys, they need that

You let your best central midfielder walk for free... Give a bunch of club mediocre new contract... Sell your best striker and fail to replace both the central midfielder and Striker and you hope for the best... You sign a slab head in defence and a two kids one for attack and another for defence and still hope for the best.... For 6 yes we have never come close to challenging any major trophy apart from Mourinho working his miracle and bringing us UEL and second place with a very very pathetic squad and you have never learned your lesson..... This season am am neutral fan..... I wish Chelsea could smash us even 7-0 on opening day..... Nkt....
