Malcom, Clement Lenglet and Arthur Melo have all arrived at Barcelona this summer, but there could be even more signings before the end of the transfer window.
Ernesto Valverde has said the building of the squad might not be finished yet, while he also explained how he is dealing with the large squad that he has taken on his side's tour of the United States.
"All teams are similar at this level," he said in response to a question on squad size, at a pre-match press conference ahead of a match against Tottenham.
"There are players who come back from loans and B team players who we can use.
"We believed the B team could help us [on this tour], but yes, I prefer to have a smaller squad.
"As for how many players could leave, we'll see how it goes.
"[In terms of arrivals], we are open to any possibility and it's clear that in central midfield we've lost an important player [in Paulinho].
"The players who have arrived and the ones from the B team are of a similar profile.
"It's probable that we'll make more signings.
"We will try to build the most competitive squad that we can, keeping in mind that we have lost Andres Iniesta.
"We want players who fit our style and we need players in the middle to generate play."
Valverde was also asked about the arrival of Malcom and of what this means for Ousmane Dembele.
"The important thing is that there is competition within the squad," he said.
"Malcom is a young player with potential who the club think can help us.
"It'll depend on his performances whether he starts or not.
"There's a chance we'll see him play against Tottenham."
The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from LaLiga was also brought up and Valverde had his say on it.
"He is an important loss for them, like the one we have with Iniesta," the coach explained.
"We'll soon see if they feel the effects of it or not.
"Even without Ronaldo, Real Madrid will be a candidate to win everything, as will Atletico Madrid."
Barcelona's match against Tottenham kicks off at 05:05 CEST early on Sunday morning.

Barcelona needs a good midfielder that can attack, bring speed, pace and agility. Barcelona are just signing players that are going to be on bench. They should sign players like thiago alcantara, erisken, rabiot, isco or willian, Barcelona will be an unstoppable force if they do that, but we hope the players they signed can improve the team.
