Virgil van Dijk has claimed Liverpool's unity cannot be called into question, instead saying it is their consistency that is letting them down.
Liverpool's 13-game unbeaten run came to an end in dramatic fashion on Saturday, as Amine Adli's last-gasp goal sealed a 3-2 win for Bournemouth.
The Reds went 2-0 down inside 33 minutes at the Vitality Stadium, but fought back via goals from Van Dijk, who had a poor day defensively, and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Yet a long throw in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time exposed Liverpool's defence, with Adli on hand to prod home at the second attempt.
"After a game and a moment like this, it is easy to say: 'He should have done this, he should have done that'," Van Dijk told Sky Sports.
"I know that is what will happen.
"Losing never feels good, especially as a Liverpool player. This season, we are trying to find consistency.
"I don't think there is any question about our togetherness, but the consistency we are looking for still needs to be found.
"It is something we have to deal with and we want to perform; we want to win games."
Bournemouth may well have scored a third goal a little earlier on, with Evanilson missing a great chance to restore the Cherries' lead.
Van Dijk, however, felt Bournemouth's eventual winner was fortunate to stand.
"What I felt on that pitch is that I was clearly blocked but the referee and VAR didn't give it," he added.
"I can stand here and say it shouldn't have been given, but it was, so it is what it is."
Liverpool, who are on a five-game winless run in the top tier, conceded a 90th-minute winning goal for the third time in the Premier League this season – their most ever in a single campaign in the competition.
After taking on Qarabag in the Champions League, the Reds host Newcastle United in their next top-flight outing.

VVD was responsible for all 3 goals by Bournemouth and Salah was unable to dribble past anyone. Time to let both of them leave at the end of the season

f**k Van Dijk he's the one that's costing us, he has become a shit defender and always make excuses he should be benched cause there's no point in starting him whereas we concede that much goals. f**k him as a leader he doesn't show nor step up. that Bournemouth first goal was his fault and should take responsibility

just own up and stop trying to blame it on togetherness. Your sense of hopelessness was what affected the team in that game. I wouldn't blame the coach at all hapless output. The players led by VVD were below par this evening. In fact they played as if there was nothing at stake. You don't play so poorly this way and hope to win. Bournemouth to all intents and purposes deserve their win.

As for Salah, he's finished. What remains is what he once was. He was not even able to pass the ball toa team mate. Everything he had the ball we are not sure if we will keep possession. IS TIME FOR HIM TO GO. SAUDI IS WAITING FOR YOU SALAH. Is no use to play 90min with a man down while is in the field.

Van Dyk was complacent in the goal he gave away. I don't understand what he was trying to do. He was neither passing back nor playing out. He has to be sure of what he's doing.

vvd and salah should have been replace by summer, letting Diaz go was a tantamount treason for Liverpool
