Arsenal have a rare weekend off following their clash with Nottingham Forest.
As FA Cup action gets underway, Mikel Arteta's side have the chance to regroup and an extended period to prepare for their Champions League meeting with PSV Eindhoven. It will also allow some time for reflection as they look to build momentum for the final stretch of the season.
Attention is already turning to the transfer window and after a lack of signings in January, the pressure appears to be on for the summer. A forward is still required, but the north Londoners may need to set out their stall with a busy few months.
Mirror Football takes a look at the latest news and rumours around the Emirates.
Osimhen drops transfer hint
Arsenal will be in the market to sign a striker once again when the summer transfer window opens but may have already seen their task made more difficult. The Gunners were linked to Victor Osimhen last summer, ahead of the Nigeria forward moving from Napoli to Galasaray on loan.
Osimhen's future will need to be resolved in the coming months, but the 26-year-old has spoken emphatically about his time in Turkey. The sharpshooter stayed clear of committing himself to a decision however.
"To be honest I don’t know," said Osimhen. "You know the last few months, nobody ever thought I would come here, I never believed I would come to Galatasaray despite how big they are.
"I live for the moment. I don’t know what will happen in the summer, but I want everybody to understand that I really love this club. I love the fans, I love the President, I love everyone associated with the club. It’s really a big deal to be here and I’m really enjoying my time here."
Arsenal to make contact over transfer
Arsenal are set to make contact with Maxim de Cuyper's entourage over a possible deal this summer. The Gunners are keen to land the Club Brugge defender, per reports, and are set to face competition from West Ham and AC Milan.
The latter have already had a member of management meet with the full-back's representatives but Arsenal are expected to have their own communication with the player’s entourage later this week.
Club Brugge are said to want a fee of €25m for De Cuyper's service. The Belgian has one goal and six assists so far this season.
Wright's warning
Ian Wright has warned Arsenal that should they not act in the summer transfer window to earn silverware, they risk losing their stars. The former Gunners forward believes the north London side will soon find themselves in a precarious position if they do not act as the likes of Real Madrid circle for William Saliba.
“Let’s wait and see who they get in the summer," he said on Wrighty’s House Podcast "Let’s wait and see. I know the manager’s signed again, but let’s wait and see because if they’re not going to get the kind of players that’s going to take us to the next step, and there’s people like, look at Saliba. Real Madrid will take him tomorrow.
“Why would he not wait and see what’s going on in the summer to see the kind of players and the calibre of player we’re signing? Because this is what I think the people upstairs need to be careful of.”

Osimhen is a good striker with great prowess, but I don't think he fits into Arsenal's style of play. He is more suited for Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, etc than Arsenal or Man City, Barcelona, etc. Teams that play on counter, or play long balls or many crosses will be good for him, not teams that play many short passes.

Osimhen, don't go there, "failure" club. In fact, PSG is far better if the likes of Chelsea or Liverpool fail to approach you!

Hold on ! You'd prefer not to have an Osimhen in your team ATM than going through these current phase????
a toxic player is not good for any team, victor has character issues I'm sure you know his story with coaches at Ndpoli and at Nigeria National team, no coach wants such a player in their team

Arsenal and their small mind mentality. You don't feel Arsenal can sign a player like Osimhen and I understand. So let your Arteta journey lead you towards Watkins, Sesko and co.
Osimhen deinted his profile after his conduct at Napoli before leaving. No coach wants a toxic player in a team

Can a ambitiousless club like Arsenal sign a player like Victor Osimhen? When they signed Rice, a midfielder for £105m you would think they are making statement and going in the right direction but like always they are not. What has Arteta won with Arsenal? i will give the FA Cup victory to Freddie Ljungberg because it was Freddie team set up that won the FA CUP

Arsenal is adamant in signing a striker a job that should happened in the winter transfer but they kept silent untill now that things had got messes up and you could easily see that it is the course of this collapse , Arsenal shouldn't be 13 points behind if they quickly responded well in attack and this has been happening since the arrival of Arteta
