VAR has fuelled an awful lot of debate across Europe in the 2019/20 season, with Real Madrid the latest team to feel aggrieved with it emerging that Vinicius Junior's goal against Real Sociedad was ruled out based on an image which didn't actually exist.
One of the major problems with the technology this term has been the fact it's unable to provide definitive images of just when the ball leaves the foot of the passer, hence looking into the minute details of whether an armpit is offside or not is rendered somewhat redundant.
Yet, officials have continued to look at images in spectacular detail without being able to definitively prove just when the ball was played completely.
Thursday evening was a prime example of this when after a two-and-a-half-minute delay it was determined that the Brazilian was offside when Luka Modric played the pass.
Once more, the image used to make the decision didn't appear on television pictures and wasn't made available until after the match had concluded.
Usually images are rendered instantly and shown to the fans and those watching on television, however there was no single shot in which the attackers and defenders were present along with Modric.
Unfortunately, when there is such a problem with VAR, it calls into question the legitimacy of all other decisions made that evening.
Real Madrid are suspicious of just why certain images weren't available on Thursday evening and even believe that one of Alex Isak's goals shouldn't have stood, with Los Blancos believing the image used in that case to be inaccurate.

We should not forget the fact that Alex lsak's goal (the 3rd goal ) wasn't even reviewed and he was clearly offside if u take a clear look. those referees as VAR should be people who are computer experts. that is technology and not just bringing someone who is a professional in running an blowing whistle

People shouting that's offside. Yeah, that is but have you seen the flight of ball in the picture? Since VAR intervened the cross and time of flight of the ball and player 's run should be in the same picture.

VAR needs to be monitor by monitors to see what they been doing in there trying to contradict half side goals and goals that’s legal to half side !!!

VAR has taken the fun away from football. You cannot celebrate a goal as it may be taken away. Fractional offsides Rob teams of wins and don't even get me started with, the time wasting. Football is too dependent on technology and the thrill if it is lost.

Why do we need VAR when its almost always wrong? Why do we need ref when he doesn't take any big decisions? Why there aren't any computer experts who can actully using VAR right? Why can't we just blame the ref and remove VAR from football? We should make some petition against VAR
