Sam Kerr became Chelsea's joint-record goalscorer in the Women's Super League as her brace helped the Blues to a 4-1 win over Everton on Sunday.
Kerr now has 63 goals in the WSL, matching Fran Kirby's record haul for the club, with Ellie Carpenter and Erin Cuthbert also on the scoresheet.
Buoyed by Manchester City's shock defeat on Saturday, Chelsea broke the deadlock just six minutes in, with Kerr finishing neatly from a Cuthbert throughball, but Yuka Momiki's stunning strike drew Everton level four minutes later.
It took Sonia Bompastor's side until the 47th minute to get back in front, with Kerr's first-time finish restoring their lead.
Maz Pacheco denied Kerr a hat-trick with a goal-line block, but Carpenter's deflected effort before a half-volley from Cuthbert got the job done for Chelsea, who moved four points clear of Arsenal, who are in Champions League action this weekend.
London City Lionesses also got a big win, coming from behind to thrash bottom club Leicester City 5-1 at Copperjax Community Stadium.
Shannon O'Brien gave the Foxes a 30th-minute lead, but they could not hold onto it as they fell to an eighth consecutive defeat.
Lucia Corrales pulled London City level two minutes after O'Brien's goal, with Isobel Goodwin putting them in front just before the break.
Malou Marcetto, Grace Geyoro and Freya Godfrey all struck in the final half an hour to end the Lionesses' five-game winless streak in the WSL.
West Ham took another big step towards retaining their WSL status after moving seven points clear of Leicester with a 1-0 win over Liverpool.
Cornelia Kapocs' own goal separated the two sides in the end as West Ham held on for a vital three points, with Estelle Cascarino twice making goal-line blocks to protect their clean sheet.
Manchester United's hopes of clinching a Champions League place next season were dealt a blow after a 0-0 draw with Tottenham.
United, who were boosted by the return of Ella Toone, have now won just one of their last eight matches in all competitions, but were dominated by Spurs.
Martin Ho's side had 22 shots to United's 10 and spurned a number of golden chances, but the point was enough to move the Red Devils back up to third, above Arsenal, who have three games in hand.
Data Debrief: Into the record books
Kerr has been chasing down Kirby's record, and now she just needs one more goal to overtake her and become Chelsea's all-time leading scorer in the WSL.
The Australian has reached her tally of 63 in 91 games, while it takes her to 111 goals for the Blues overall in all competitions.
Chelsea are now unbeaten in each of their last nine WSL games against Everton (W8 D1), winning each of the last six in a row by an aggregate score of 21-2.
