Watford 1-2 Chelsea: Abraham scores and assists Pulisic as Blues go 3rd in PL

Goals from Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic earned Chelsea a 2-1 win over Watford - the Blues' fifth straight Premier League victory.

Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic scored in either half as Chelsea beat Watford 2-1 to move up to third with their fifth straight Premier League win.

The Blues took an early lead against their bottom-of-the-table hosts when Abraham reached Jorginho's pass and guided the ball over Ben Foster.

Watford's goalkeeper denied Abraham, Pulisic and Mason Mount before Chelsea's United States international - who scored a hat-trick against Burnley last weekend - turned home Abraham's cross 10 minutes into the second half.

Gerard Deulofeu scored an 80th-minute penalty - one that was only awarded by VAR following a lengthy delay - but Frank Lampard's side held on to climb above Leicester City in the table.

Abraham with a superb finish, after a brilliant ball in behind by Jorginho. The striker gets between the two Watford centre-backs and races through on goal, getting to the ball before Foster and firing it over his head and into the back of the net.

Superb stop by Foster to deny Abraham a second Chelsea goal! Mount fires the ball towards goal, it's blocked and falls perfectly to Abraham in front of goal, but Foster rushes off his line and saves with his feet.

19' CLOSE! Foster denies Pulisicz’s effort

This time Foster denies Pulisic with a brilliant diving save. Willian whipped a corner into the box, which Pulisic meets at the near post and flicks it towards the far corner of the goal, it appears to be flying into the back of the net, but Foster gets fingertips to it and pushes it out wide to safety.

39' CLOSE! Deulofeu's shot inches wide

The initial corner delivery is well cleared by Chelsea, but Watford keep hold of the ball and it finds Deulofeu once again, who drills it towards the bottom corner and it flies narrowly wide of the post.

43' CLOSE! Mount hits the beam

Mount with a superb strike from the edge of the penalty area, but Foster just manages to get fingertips to it and push it onto the crossbar. That's three excellent saves by the Watford keeper now.

48' Mount's powerful strike stopped by Foster

Another terrific save by Foster to deny Chelsea a second goal. Willian feeds Mount on the left-hand side, his first touch is good and it drills the ball towards goal on the volley, but Foster makes a smart save and pushes it out wide.

55' GOAL! Watford 0-2 Chelsea (Pulisic)

Willian gets the ball in the middle, he lays it out wide to Abraham, who drills it into the six-yard box and Pulisic taps the ball home from just a couple of yards out.

80' Penalty Goal! Watford 1-2 Chelsea (Deulofeu)

Deulofeu converts the penalty and makes it 2-1! The winger sends Kepa the wrong way and coolly slots the ball into the back of the net.
