DFL President and German Football Association Vice President Watzke said: "I still think Nagelsmann is an excellent coach with great potential. I believe he will have a brilliant career in the future."
Watzke himself had tried many times in the past to bring the young Nagelsmann to Dortmund. However, after Hoffenheim, Nagelsmann first chose RB Leipzig, and then joined Bayern Munich.
Hansi Flick proved that even a temporarily unsuccessful national team coach can still take over a giant club and lead them to championships.
