Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is suffering from a sickness fever but is still set to be handed his Arsenal debut at home to Everton on Saturday.

The Gunners shattered their transfer record to bring the £56m striker in from Borussia Dortmund on deadline day.

And Arsene Wenger has not ruled out his new signing acting as the spearhead of a new-look attacking frontline between now and the end of the season.

Wenger said on Friday morning: 'He (Aubameyang) started yesterday but wasn’t completely well. I will see with the medical department.

'He is a typical striker with great pace and a good ratio between games played and goals scored. He is a team player.'

Asked whether Aubameyang will form part of a four-man attack alongside Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and fellow January new boy Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Wenger replied: 'It is always possible. Will I do it? Maybe - I don’t know.'
