Arsene Wenger wants the Bayern Munich job amid doubts over Niko Kovac's future as manager.
The Frenchman has not retired but is not interested in taking over at another club in England after ending his 22 years in charge at Arsenal with his departure in the summer.
Wenger has said that he wants to be back in management by the beginning of 2019 and the Telegraph are reporting that he is keen to take over at Bayern.
There are suggestions in Germany that Wenger is seen as a possible successor to Kovac, who has had a bad start to life at the Allianz Arena.
The German champions are fifth in the Bundesliga table after 12 games.
Kovac's standing took another blow this weekend when Bayern crashed from a 3-1 lead against Fortuna Dusseldorf to draw 3-3.
Wenger is thought to want to go into a job where he has a realistic chance of ending his career with silverware while competing at the top level
Bayern would undoubtedly give the 69-year-old the chance of picking up more trophies.
He would also be quick to settle — German is one of the languages he speaks fluently.
Wenger has also been eyed by Paris Saint-Germain as a potential technical director.
Bayern take on Benfica in the Champions League group stage on Tuesday evening.

Wenger will do well in Bayern. Same way he won trophies for Arsenal when they were still at Highbury. Wenger's struggle started immediately they moved to the Emirates with the club management making him to raise more money from player sales while he just meet the top four in order to pay of the stadium cost of construction and debt. That was not Wenger's fault. His loyalty to the club made him stay back even when he could have easily moved over to other bigger clubs like Real Madrid, Man City, PSG etc.

As if Wenger can do better at Bayern Munich than Kovac? The problem is not Kovac at Bayern Munich but the squad is ageing and fatigue is hammering the team hard, mind you this team has been like that for the past 4-5 years and if the coach is not given a blank cheque to sign players he want he will be made a scapegoat

So that means he will end up in the 5th or 6th place in bundesliga??? C'mon Bayern needs a better coach then him.... Arsene Wenger was once on of the best coaches in the world... Now i think his tactices are just too old and opponent teams know those tactices... Bayern needs a coach like Antonio Conte, Zinedine Zidane or Allegri

Wenger is a great coach. His tactics has proven him right. Bayern would do themselves a world of honor to have him. Besides, Wenger present will lift the standard of Bundesliga. Young coaches will learn from him no doubt. Lastly, more fans will watch Bundesliga, especially when Bayern is playing. A good example is Henry as coach in Monaco. A lot of fans are watching Monaco simply because of Henry. Henry present has caused a lot of persons including myself to follow that league. Bayern you have my approval, go on with Wenger.

Fifth on the table after 12 games, Bayern Munich is very lucky this season, after spending only €17 millions this season to be fiftb place, i expected them to be 8 or 9 place😀😀 Best club for Wenger, he will like it and enjoyed it there, go help them make enough profits for buying and selling young players, because they're so cheap and keeping lot of older men on their teams and expecting to win trophy 😀
