West Ham have rebuffed a £50million bid from Tottenham to sign Mohammed Kudus, according to reports.
Mail Sport understands that the Ghana international is keen on a move, and will need little convincing to accept personal terms with the Hammers' London rivals.
Kudus has an £85million clause for Premier League clubs, active for the first 10 days of July. The forward is one of West Ham’s most sellable assets, and the club have accepted that they will need to sell before they can buy.
European clubs will have to pay slightly less for Kudus (£80m) while Saudi Arabian sides are being forced to cough up a whopping £120m.
Despite Tottenham's latest bid being rejected, it is understood that the two clubs are still engaging in negotiations over a deal, according to The Athletic.
There has also been contact from Chelsea to register their interest in Kudus. While there has not been an official bid tabled yet, there has been informal talk over acceptable figures.
Kudus would be Tottenham's second signing under new boss Thomas Frank, after Mathys Tel's loan move was made permanent last month.
The 24-year-old would also be the first transfer between Tottenham and West Ham in 14 years if a deal is agreed.
Scott Parker joining Tottenham in 2011 remains the last transfer between the two bitter rivals.
Daniel Levy blocked Emmanuel Adebayor from moving in the opposite direction four years later and the two clubs have not done business in 14 years.
Kudus began his career at Danish club Nordsjaelland after arriving from the Ghanaian Right to Dream Academy - a youth association football academy system based in Accra, the country's capital.
In 2020, he joined Ajax for around £7.5m, where he scored 27 goals in 87 appearances and broke through under Erik ten Hag.
Kudus arrived at West Ham from Ajax for close to £40m two summers ago and made an immediate impact, netting 14 goals across all competitions in his debut campaign.
He was a bright spot amid a difficult season last term at the London Stadium, registering five goals and a further four assists across his 35 appearances in all competitions.

If Brentford is stubborn about selling Mbeumo, use the money and buy kudos. It's an insult to Kudus to be priced just 50m...he is worth 70, as a normal player but as English player, he is worth 105 m
