West Ham are investigating after a video emerged of a fan racially abusing Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah during Monday's 1-1 draw at London Stadium.
A video emerged on social media in which audible racial slurs are clearly directed at the Egypt international as he took a corner during the Premier League fixture at the London Stadium on Monday.
In the post, the Twitter user says: "I went to watch West Ham vs Liverpool and I was disgusted by what I was hearing. People like this deserve no place in our society let alone football matches."
The club have told Sky Sports News they are taking immediate action to identify the individual or individuals involved.
Should the person or persons be found, the club will make a report to police and issue a football banning order.
A West Ham United spokesperson issued the following statement to Sky Sports News: "At West Ham United, we have a zero tolerance policy to any form of violent or abusive behaviour.
"We are an inclusive football club. Regardless of age, race, religion or belief, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment or disability, everyone is warmly welcomed at London Stadium.
"Anyone identified committing an offence will have their details passed to the police and will face a lifetime ban from London Stadium. There is no place for this kind of behaviour at our stadium."
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed they are aware of the footage and looking into its contents.
A Met Police statement read: "We are aware of a video in which it appears racial abuse is being directed at a player at a West Ham vs Liverpool game at London Stadium on Monday, 4 February.
"Officers are in the process of reviewing the footage. No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
"Anyone who witnesses inappropriate behaviour during a match is urged to bring it to the attention of a steward or police officer."

Such ancient behaviour has no place in the beautiful game. Respect for diversity should be a core value to every single human being. Peace and love for all.

If I were a West Ham supporter, I would be embarrassed to be supporting the same team as that man.

it's our belief and I trust the gentle man of his calibre "Mo Salah" should he be given a chance go express him self with regards what happened at WestHam London stadium, he shall "100% forgive" the WestHam United fun for a mischievous wrong doing. " It could be done play hour part ".

like football Club's are so many. Like religions remain so many. And there is a likely moment of time when a fun from WestHam FC may dislike the opposing team like Liverpool FC. Religion are same and will remain unchanged. Certainly, Religions are like instruments of maintaining peace through beliefs in God (The Creator). But the common purpose toward faith remains the same.
