The Chelsea defender was subject to racist insults after scoring an own goal against Sheffield United on Saturday
Frank Lampard has again taken aim at social media after Kurt Zouma was racially abused following Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Sheffield United on Saturday.
“We have to look at social media and the platforms and give them some accountability, to actually have people registered who can be chased down for it,” Lampard said.
“I think it’s simple. Until we get to that, however horrible the conversation is, we are all going to get tired talking about it because if there’s no culpability then anyone can say anything to anyone.
“I don’t care if it’s racism, it could be homophobia, sexism -– if we allow it then it’s out there and it has to be dealt with."
Saturday wasn't the first time this season that Lampard has called upon social media to act after one of his players was racially abused online.
Earlier this month, Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham was targeted after missing the vital penalty in a shootout against Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup.
"The social media companies, are they ever going to stop someone casually putting up what someone did against Tammy? That’s their responsibility," Lampard said.
Following another incident on Saturday, Lampard said he is hoping to meet with representatives of social media companies to further discuss his concerns.
"I think we have plans [to meet with companies]. Everyone knows where we want to go with it and not just with our players, any player."
Chelsea's defence has not been up to standard in the season's early going, as the Blues have conceded nine goals in four Premier League games thus far.
Lampard, however, refused to point the finger at his team's back line, instead saying that Chelsea's entire team was responsible for conceding goals.
"It's not defence, it's conceding as a team," Lampard said.
"There was a lack of concentration and mistakes at moments for the goals but you defend as a team as much as you attack as a team.
"We conceded because we switched off in a game we should be comfortably seeing out, and that is no disrespect to Sheffield United."

Zouma did what any defender would do which is commit to stop a possible goal. He gets hate for defending now? Chelsea fans can be so fickle sometimes no wonder people call us a plastic fanbase. 1 day people were calling him the next big thing then the next instead if backing him, they slate him and say he isnt good. And to top it off theres even a few trolls who write racist stuff towards him. Take him out the side and watch the team concede x amount of goals.... shows how stupid some people are when they blame the WRONG guy. Theres a reason Sheffield both attacks came down our right (their left), Azpi is an easy target for any team. United used Rashford to hurt us down their left, Liverpool used Mane, Leicester used Maddison, Norwich used their fullback Lewis and now Sheffield used Robertson all down the same side and you wanna tell me its Zoumas fault who plays on the left and not right? The root of the problem is clearly Azpi, stop creating agendas for yourselves its embarrassing, makes us look like AFTV. Once James comes in the side the team will be much better....

Our defense is very poor this season as well as our second half performances have been so poor in each game we have played so far

when you put your trust on the young players rather than the experience once, this is what happens to you. stop blaming William because Lanpard is disrespecting him and he can't give him his best from the bench. I wish to see Lanpard play this style of players in the UCL and see the number of goals he will receive.

Any defender in the process of defending or blocking a ball from rolling in their net can accidentally put the ball into his own net and when that happens there is no need single the player out and abuse him racially.

Rudiger is very much fit,Lampard. Pair him with Christensen and the Chelsea defence will be solid rock again. Forget about playing young players(Fikayo) during crucial matches. We need experience at the back and William should start playing too.

Zouma isn't our problem Azplicueta is, the two goals came from his side. He has done enough for the team, he's now old and should be on the bench. I don't understand why Zappa was sent out on loan when we don't actually have a back up for Azpi
