What is the transfer value of every Chelsea player?

Chelsea have repeatedly flexed their financial muscle ever since the takeover of Roman Abramovich over 15 years ago.

The Blues have become a powerhouse in English and European football, winning two Champions League titles and two Premier League titles in the last nine years.

With this success has come the trading of some of the world’s most expensive footballers, typified by the club-record deal to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The summer before that, the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell all joined for large transfer fees as Chelsea looked to return to the summit of the English top flight.

But just how valuable are Chelsea’s star players?

FootballTransfers' transfer valuations are calculated in collaboration with SciSports, a world-leading football analytics agency that assesses the relative transfer valuations of over 60,000 professional footballers worldwide.

SciSports use multiple data points including current and potential ability, contract length, form, age, and other crucial factors.

Using this data we have compiled the figures of the value of every Chelsea squad player.

Lukaku is, predictably, the most valuable player in the Chelsea squad at €107 million, a figure that also makes him the most valuable player in the entire Premier League.

Kai Havertz has a valuation of €80m, which is second highest. The German scored the goal that won Chelsea the Champions League in the 2020-21 season, and at 22 years of age has a big future ahead of him in London.

Two players are tied in third place. They are academy product Mason Mount and German forward Timo Werner, who are both valued at €71m.

Transfer value of Chelsea attackers

Romelu Lukaku: €107m

Timo Werner: €71m

Christian Pulisic: €55m

Callum Hudson-Odoi: €36m

Hakim Ziyech: €31m

Other highly valuable players at Thomas Tuchel’s disposal include Christian Pulisic and Reece James, at €55m and €51m respectively.

The former has struggled for fitness for much of his Chelsea career but has a very high ceiling for development, while James has been in superb goalscoring form from right wing-back, with four goals in the first 11 games of the Premier League season.

Ben Chilwell has a value of €49m, while Saul Niguez’s valuation of €48m is not matching his performances as he struggles in the early goings of his loan spell from Atletico Madrid.

All of Chelsea’s attackers are valued at over €30m, while young talents like Trevoh Chalobah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Malang Sarr should hopefully see their €14m valuations increase in the coming seasons.

Edouard Mendy has become one of the best goalkeepers in the game and is valued at €30m. Antonio Rudiger is only valued at €24m as his contract reaches its expiry next summer, while Cesar Azpilicueta (€12m) and Thiago Silva (€9m) have comparatively low valuations as they get further away from their prime at 32 and 37 years old respectively.
