'What problem?' – Neymar confident of fitness ahead of World Cup

Neymar is confident his latest injury setback will not be a problem at the World Cup.

The 34-year-old suffered a calf injury while playing for Santos in a 3-0 defeat against Coritiba on May 17 and has since missed three matches for his club.

However, Neymar has been named in Carlo Ancelotti's squad for the upcoming tournament, having not featured for Brazil in almost three years.

It is the first time Ancelotti has selected Neymar in one of his squads, though the door has always been left open for Brazil's record goalscorer if he could prove his fitness.

Asked about his calf after watching Santos' Copa Sudamericana game at Vila Belmiro, Neymar said, as quoted by ESPN Brazil: "It's right here, in one piece."

And when pressed if the injury setback would prove a problem to his World Cup availability, the former Barcelona forward added: "What problem?"

While Neymar is optimistic about his chances, Brazil's medical staff are expected to take a cautious approach to ensure he will be able to feature.

The bruising on his calf means he is very unlikely to play in Brazil's pre-tournament friendlies against Panama and Egypt on May 31 and June 5, respectively.

But while the recovery time may be longer than expected, the Selecao will be hopeful Neymar can be available for their World Cup opener against Morocco on June 13.
