Chelsea have a list of departures as long as any club in the world, with their bloated approach often resulting in hopefuls never making an appearance.
The Blues are known for sending players out on loan, and currently have 33 contracted stars out on temporary deals.
But Chelsea have also learned to let go of players permanently, with 12 players leaving during Frank Lampard’s time in charge.
Of course, Thomas Tuchel is now in charge, and while he is yet to relieve anyone of their duties, he has to pick up where Lampard left off and get the best out of those at the club.
So from Pedro to Alvaro Morata, here’s an update on where the last 12 players Chelsea let go are now.
Ola Aina
Having spent the season on loan at Torino, Aina joined the Serie A side permanently in 2019 for a fairly handsome £9m.
The Nigeria international had plenty of game time last season, but is now back in the Premier League with Fulham on loan, and he has the option to make the move permanent.
Fee: £9m
Tomas Kalas
After going through the usual Chelsea loan ringer, Kalas ended his nine-year stint at the club by joining Bristol City two years ago for a club record £8m.
The Czech Republic international is a mainstay for the Robins in the Championship after agreeing a four-year deal.
Fee: £8m
David Luiz
Chelsea probably thought they’d hit the jackpot when Arsenal coughed up £8m for a 32-year-old David Luiz in a shock move.
The Brazilian’s erratic tendencies have made him public enemy number one at times, but he has also shown his vast experience to help sure up Mikel Arteta’s back line.
Fee: £8m
Michael Hector
One of those who was never quite going to make it at Chelsea, Hector joined Fulham in 2019, and helped lead their promotion charge in the following season.
The Jamaica international has barely got a sniff in the Premier League this season though, despite the Cottagers troubles.
Fee: £5m
Kenneth Omeruo
Another who made no appearances but had plenty of loan spells, Omeruo joined Spanish side Leganes back in 2019 after failing to make the grade.
The defender made the move after a year in La Liga, but went down to the second tier after a disappointing season last time out.
Fee: £4.5m
Todd Kane
Right-back Kane has been a mainstay since joining QPR on a free transfer in July 2019.
The 27-year-old was another who had several loan spells, no less than nine, before it was decided he was not good enough for the first team.

Alvaro Morata
Chelsea took a pretty big hit on Spanish flop Morata to get him off their books last summer, shipping him onto Atletico Madrid for £31m, almost half of what they paid for him just three years before.
Morata is actually currently on loan at Juventus, but is due to return to Atletico at the end of the season, but who knows where he will end up next.
Fee: £31m
Pedro
Experienced wide man Pedro has enjoyed plenty of playing time at Roma this season after leaving Chelsea on a free transfer last summer.
The World Cup-winning Spaniard was slowly phased out by Lampard, but has shown there is still life in his 33-year-old legs yet.
Fee: Free
Mario Pasalic
Pasalic isn’t the first Chelsea player to spend more time out on loan than at the club as the Croatia international spent all six of his contract seasons at another club on loan.
The midfielder finally ended his time at Chelsea last summer, moving to Atalanta for £13m, where he had already spent two years on loan.
Fee: £13m
Nathan
Those who aren’t die hard Chelsea fans can be forgiven for not even knowing who Nathan is.
But the former Brazilian youth international, full name Nathan Allan de Souza, actually spent five years contracted to the club, before moving permanently to Atletico Mineiro last year after accepting the London life wasn’t for him.
Fee: £2.7m
Willian
Brazilian winger Willian made the move across London last summer after his contract at Stamford Bridge expired.
The 32-year-old hasn’t quite manage to recapture his best form with the Gunners, but has showed signs he still has plenty to offer.
Fee: Free
Lucas Piazon
Piazon had more loan spells than he had hot dinners during his time at Chelsea.
But having joined as a tender 18-year-old from Sao Paulo back in 2012, the Brazilian finally left the club permanently in January this year for Portuguese side Braga.
