Manchester United will play their second game in three days this evening when they host Thomas Frank's Brentford.

The Red Devils come into the game off the back of a 2-0 defeat away to Newcastle United on Sunday - with Joe Willock and Callum Wilson scoring for Eddie Howe's side.

Erik ten Hag's side currently sit fifth in the table, but a win will take them back into the Champions League spaces.

As for Brentford, they come into the game off the back of a 3-3 draw away to Brighton in their last game - with Pontus Jansson, Ivan Toney and Ethan Pinnock all scoring for Thomas Frank's side.

But why will the fixture not be shown live on TV? And how can you follow the game? Sportsmail provides all the answers below.

When is Manchester United vs Brentford?

The clash between Manchester United and Brentford is set to get underway later this evening.

This evening's fixture between the two sides will take place at Old Trafford, where the Red Devils have won four of their last five games in all competitions.

The game between the two sides is set to kick off at 8pm.

Why will the game not be shown live on TV?

Unfortunately for Premier League fans, tonight's clash between United and Brentford will not be shown live on TV.

The game was originally scheduled to take place at 3pm on Saturday, February 25, a day before the Carabao Cup final.

With United involved in the cup final at Wembley, the fixture was forced to be rescheduled.

As the game was originally due to kick off at 3pm on a Saturday, it meant that neither Sky Sports nor BT Sport picked the showdown as one of their allotted live games.

Newcastle United's trip to West Ham will be the only game shown live on TV tonight as the fixture was already scheduled to take place on this date.

While this evening's game at Old Trafford will not be broadcasted on TV, Sportsmail will be providing live coverage of Manchester United vs Brentford, so you can keep up-to-date with all the latest developments here.

What happened in the reverse fixture?

The two sides have already met this season, with Brentford winning the first encounter back in August.

First-half goals from Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo secured a 4-0 win for Frank's side.

The defeat to Brentford was United's second in a row following their opening day defeat to Brighton.
