Liverpool will be top of the Premier League at Christmas after battling to a 2-0 win at Wolves with the help of Mohamed Salah.
Match Report
Mohamed Salah scored one goal and made another as Liverpool won 2-0 at Wolves to guarantee they will be top of the Premier League on Christmas Day.
The leaders toiled for much of Friday's clash at a sodden Molineux, with in-form Wolves having won their last three league games to move up to seventh.
But Salah's 11th Premier League goal of the season, meaning the Egypt star is now leading the race for the Golden Boot, set up Liverpool's sixth straight win in all competitions.
And when Salah crossed for Virgil van Dijk to stab home his first Premier League goal for the club in the 68th minute, Liverpool extended their lead over Manchester City to four points, although Naby Keita's injury was a sour note on a professional performance.

18' GOAL! Wolves 0-1 Liverpool (Salah)
Liverpool win a free-kick on their left - to Wolves' surprise they take it short. It drops to Fabinho who is tailed by Neves. The Brazilian plays a quick one-two with Mane on the flank and cuts back to Salah, who impudently flicks the ball past Patricio with the outside of his left foot!
That was a lovely assist by Fabinho who is coming into his own in a Liverpool shirt now. Wolves will be disappointed given their bright start but there's still plenty of time for them to get back into this.
68' GOAL! Wolves 0-2 Liverpool (Van Dijk)
Liverpool take this corner short, bamboozling the Wolves defence. Robertson angles in a cross from deep that Bennett kicks clear, but only as far as Salah just outside the area. Salah puts the ball straight back into the box and van Dijk is on hand to tap the ball into the net! 2-0 Liverpool.
Salah's now scored six and assisted six against newly-promoted sides for Liverpool.

But Salah was meant to be One Season wonder, and Fabinho was meant to be a bust. What a pass. What a finish. 11th of the season. Your Premier League top scorer is the Egyptian King π Remember when people laughed at Liverpool signing virgil van dijk because of the price tag? Look at them now. Their defense has gone from a shambles to one of their biggest strengths, because a player like that improves everyone around them. he scored the second goal full espresso martini in hand , doesnt spill a drop ,, for liverpool fans they dont care about the price tag if you are playing well ,,, suddenly virgil van dijk looks like a bargain. Not for the goal today, but 90% of his performances this season in the league have been nothing short of perfect,,, Genuinely think Liverpool need to give Southampton another Β£50m for him. Fabinho is quality. Liverpool signing him for Β£44m is massive business. The only down bit to his game is that he can be out of position a few times, but he is a very good player.

Eight years out of nine the league leaders in the Christmas's morning ends up to be the champion and it is only Liverpool that didn't be the champions in the season 2013-14 and now it seems like they are at the top till the Christmas morning again. Hope this year they won't spoil the game as they did before. Probably they are the champions this season. #YNWA

Tbh, even though we lost, I think we played a great game. Anyway, Liverpool are an exceptional team and I really hope that they win the Premiership. I'm pretty sure if we play like that against Fulham, we'll go with the three points. The good thing is we're still in a good position for a team has been promoted. We're are a young team with the desire n intent to win games. Hopefully, we'll finish in a good position at the end of the season. Win, draw or lose - #WolvesAyeWe πΊπΊπΊ

Liverpool are really dominating this season! Man City will still defeat you somehow. But congrats to Liverpool on their amazing display and I might have to admit. Virgil Van Dijk is the BEST DEFENDER IN THE WORLD!!
