Wolves 1-2 Liverpool: Firmino extends Reds' EPL winning streak to 14 games

Wolves were heading for a deserved point against Liverpool only for Roberto Firmino to snatch yet another win with a late strike.

Liverpool moved 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League after Roberto Firmino struck a late winner in a 2-1 defeat of Wolves at Molineux.

The Brazil striker's 10th goal of the season in all competitions six minutes from time was enough to seal a 22nd win from 23 league games this season for Jurgen Klopp's runaway leaders.

There was something of a setback for the visitors, though, who lost Sadio Mane to injury in the first half.

Jurgen Klopp's side had gone 725 minutes without conceding a goal in the top flight, stretching back to the 5-2 win over Everton in December, until Raul Jimenez cancelled out Jordan Henderson's opener.

A real concern for Liverpool as Mane goes to ground twice in quick succession. They will not want to lose him for the latter stages of this season.

After picking up a knock, Mane is unable to continue and goes off to be replaced by Takumi Minamino.

Wolves go on the attack and Neves deep ball to the far post finds Jimenez. The Mexican cuts inside onto his right foot, but can only drag his eventual shot wide of the target.

A clever header from Firmino releases Salah in full stride. The Egyptian skips away from a couple of challenges and lets fly with his left foot, but Doherty slides in to make a crucial intervention.

Sloppy play from Traore on the edge of his own penalty area is pounced on by Salah, whose powerful drive is beaten away by Patricio.

Liverpool are looking a little rattled and Wolves are growing in confidence. Following a neat passage of play, Traore gets a shot on goal, but Alisson does well to beat it away to safety.

Jimenez springs the offside trap as Robertson is slow to step out and races through on goal. However, the angle is tight and Alisson is able to block the Mexican's effort.

At the other end, Salah bursts into life on the edge of the box following sloppy Wolves play. He skips away from Coady but is unable to keep his low shot on target.
