Two second-half goals helped Wolves see off a poor Manchester United side in their FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday.
Match Events
27' Neves' long shot saved by Romero
Moutinho curls the ball out to Neves on the edge of the box from the corner. The Portuguese strikes it first time, but Romero watches it all the way to make the stop.
42' Jota's solo saved by Romero
Neves releases Jota into space on the counter and the forward takes the ball forward to the edge of the box. Romero closes down the angle and makes a solid stop to deny Jota from his strike at goal.
53' WHAT A SAVE from Romero to deny Jimenez
The United keeper makes a fine save to deny Jimenez. The Mexico international rose highest in the box to head at goal, but Romero stuck out a hand to turn his effort on to the bar and over.
70'GOAL! Wolves 1-0 Man Utd (Jimenez)
The home side take a deserved lead through a fine strike from Jimenez. Moutinho is the architect with a run through the United defence down the left flank. He bundles the ball to his team-mate, who sees his first shot blocked. However, he then fires towards the bottom corner on the turn with a crisp right-footed effort that beats Romero.
76'GOAL! Wolves 2-0 Man Utd (Jota)
The home side take a huge stride towards the semi-finals as Jota drills a strike past Romero. Shaw has a bad time at the back for the visitors as his aimless ball comes back, allowing Neves to release the Portuguese. Jota twists and turns his way past Shaw before taking a strike on the left foot, which flies past Romero into the back of the net.
95' GOAL! Wolves 2-1 Man Utd (Rashford)
Rashford turns and finishes well into the bottom corner from Shaw's cross. The United left-back raided forward down the left and cut the ball back into the middle. Rashford took one touch to control before dispatching a low strike into the back of the net. It's probably too little too late for the visitors.

Match Report
Jimenez fired home inside a crowded area after 70 minutes before Jota turned Luke Shaw inside out to add a second six minutes later and put the game beyond United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side – who had won nine away games in a row before last weekend's Premier League defeat to Arsenal – did find a late consolation through Marcus Rashford but can have no complaints with the result.

Sometimes, it is easier to win Games when you are an Interim Manager or Coach, cos you have nothing to lose. I know Solkjaer is a Good Guy, but he's not ready to Coach Manchester United right now. You need to see the fact that almost all his starting XI apart from De Gea was in this Match and United still lost. This team needs total Overhaul, those three CHILDREN that Played in the Front three are no Match to European Elites (forget the fact that they defeated PSG) cos if you watched the Arsenal Game, you'd understand my Point. A Good Coach is needed, and at least five New Signings

Terrible terrible display tonight and Wolves deserved the win 100% We hardly get passed their back 3 and troubled their keeper and that's where we missed Lukaku's strength and presence in the box Rashford and Martial both were slow lost possession and lack ambition alongside Lingard We needed some creativity to break down that defence and Mata would have brought that but Ole didn't brought him sooner When Pogba isn't going the team is also not going and we need to work on this in order to end the season on a high note Wolves got us on the counter and took advantage of our sloppiness and won it

I enjoyed watching wolves because Nuno Espirito is a tactical genius.. Wolves all the time forced Utd to go to the corners...Only twice I saw Utd playing the ball through the center because Moutinho and Neves were absolutely amazing Tonight forcing the players to play from sidelines... So we'll deserved win wolves

The thing is that... Don't get amazing after man utd being knocked out by wolves at Molineux.... Instead There is no top six team in Epl who have won against Wolves at Molineux stadium... This kids are too tough when they play against big teams especially at their Home stadium... But Man utd played well, tried to create more chances but wolves won to stop them... Again they have won our mistakes and knocked us out... Just Well done wolves and if keep this pace they may go to semis and win after that if possible could bring home the FA cup!.!

my comment will look weird, but I believe if Solskjaer is given the job,he won’t be able to win too much or even anything for our team,he should have the qualities to motivate the team and win everything and every game that comes his way,he managed it against PAG but failed against Arsenal and Wolves now,the team played poorly and lacked motivation,Nuno was better with his tactics and worked well for him,he cant compete to win FA then we can’t be guaranteed that he can compete to win EPL and the CL,if possible then we shall need another manager and Solskjaer should be given more time to learn and be ready for our hot seat

Some funny stats: Wolves have won three consecutive #FACup games for the first time since February 2003. Eight of Marcus Rashford's 12 goals in all competitions for Manchester United this season have come since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge of the club. Each of Wolves' last six goals in all competitions have been scored by either Raul Jimenez (4) or Diogo Jota (2)

Remember how last week United and Arsenal fans made fun of us for drawing to Wolves? United just lost to that same team and Arsenal have got them next at Molineu too. Good luck to the fans that were talking crap about us, really 😂. Karma is sweet.

I think with the kind if pattern ole uses unlike it but the most important thing now is united need players who likes to win games and score goals not martial and rashford nor lingard who comes to play like they are the best when dey are not.One thing that HSS made mbape better than this three is that he thinks of winning and get the ball behind the net,his mentality is not that of rashford, lingard or martial or should I say within the team there is no competition for place. What united is to release money buy better players up front start with the attacking section cause united Need to get goals if there are to be successful in competition . see man city whole team, if one is not giving his best they have sub's that will give his best to secure a place in the team. i just hope united think fast and sign new attackers to the team cause relying on rashford, martial and lingard is making them not performing to their fullest ability.

What a pity. But do not blame Ole.Blame WOODWORD.HE dismissed Mou who had been begging for 3 PLAYERS stating that Man.Utd were not at European level. He got Ole.Good.Ole worked wonders with what he had.But now we face facts.MOU was right. Woodword's interest is making money for the Glaziers.??commissions?? And we face disappointments and ridicule.WHY did WOODWORD Not buy in January? Zidane joined Madrid. The first thing he did was buy a good player. And he is planning more buys. The difference between the two teams is clear. Besides remember Man Utd beat PSG without Bogba and martial. Josie. . .

ole, its quite a surprise that you couldn't read the problem of lack of form by several of your players who made this team. matic failed to pass the ball, sub (Fred) right, marshal and lingard out of play character sub (lukaku) then move dalot upfront and bring in young at right back, also herreira sleeping on duty and the entire midfield was in shambles, to be true I don't know whether pogba was out of form or affected by the confusion. all changes were expected by70 min . keeping quiet was a typical mourinho attitude. all the same I do admire your previous exploits but if pinched react we don't want to lose u.

I cannot believe that the MU which had defeated a great team like PSG has been eliminated by a Wolves which recently was in Championship league in the FA cup quarter final. We fans of MU must not be discouraged and put all blames on Ole who is doing a fantastic job.Instead we must encourage Ole and MU to rebound with greater strength to finish on top 4 and to prepare the team which had beaten PSG for the match against Barcelona. We can do it.I am hundred % confident that MU under Ole will do it. That will be possible only by the squad that had eliminated PSG if they get a great mental and physical preparation. and the work must begin now. Ole we request you to. analyse thoroughly the style of playing of each Barcelona's player and to identify the MU players who can counter attack them from playing at their maximum level and to strike at them at any. opportunity. We must consider the defeats at Arsenal and Wolves as a blessing in disguise, so that Ole presents the team which had played against PSG.It is not the sea yo drink for MU against Barcelona
