Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa was involved in a heated conversation with supporters following his side's 3-2 defeat by Burnley on Sunday.
Vitor Pereira's men conceded a 95th minute goal to Lyle Foster to succumb to a disastrous loss against the Clarets after they had fought back from 2-0 down.
The result leaves Wolves rock bottom of the Premier League with two points from nine games, and things turned chaotic at full-time when Pereira clashed with his own fans, who had chanted 'you're getting sacked in the morning' towards him.
Despite the flashpoint, the anger among supporters didn't appear to calm, with a video circulating on social media on Sunday night of goalkeeper Sa engaging in a frank chat with a group of fans.
In the clip, Sa, who was an unused substitute for the match having lost his place in goal to Sam Johnstone in recent weeks, had got out of his car as he attempted to leave Molineux.
Much of the audio was unclear, but Sa was visibly frustrated and was speaking to three supporters in particular.
As stewards attempted to intervene, the keeper could be heard telling them that everything was fine and that the discussion was important.
'It's OK, we are just talking. They are right,' Sa said.
The supporters appeared to raise the issue that they do not see 'enough passion' from Wolves' players on the pitch.
Sa replied: 'Yeah, maybe, but I'm trying to give this to them. Plus, now I am on the bench.'
To another question raised, Sa then said: 'Yeah, 100 per cent, the way that we conceded goals today is unacceptable.'
When asked who was to blame for the club's struggles, Sa didn't want to answer, but noted: 'It's not only the players.'
He later added: 'When I go home, I don’t speak to my wife because we lose, because I am sad. I feel the club, I show you always on the pitch as we score, as we concede, I fight with everything.'
Sa's words appeared to placate the fans, who began to applaud him and towards the end of the conversation, the keeper admitted: 'We are playing s***, I will be honest with you.'
Sa then retreated to his car and shook hands with those he had been remonstrating with, who also gave him a clap again before the keeper acknowledged them.
Sa, who has played 150 times for Wolves since joining from Olympiacos in 2021, did also clash with fans last season during a defeat by Bournemouth when he was involved in an altercation at half-time.
Meanwhile, speaking on Sunday about his incident with supporters, Pereira had attempted to provide context in his post-match press conference.
‘What I said to the fans was that we worked a lot and we need to fight together,’ he said.
‘I understand the frustration but what I must say to them is that if we fight united with them we can win games and compete. If I were a fan at the end of this game I’d feel proud of my team.
‘Two months ago they were singing my name thanks to the work we did last season (when Pereira kept Wolves up comfortably after arriving in mid-season). Now they sing my name maybe to sack me but this is football.’
