During the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 match between Switzerland and Algeria, Granit Xhaka reached a historic milestone of 150 appearances for the Swiss national team, becoming the first player in the team's history to achieve this feat.
The 33-year-old Xhaka made his international debut in 2011. Starting in the match against Algeria, he claimed his 150th cap for the Swiss national team.
According to records, Xhaka is the first Swiss player to reach this milestone. Across his 149 previous appearances, Xhaka scored 18 goals for his country.
