Zinedine Zidane is targeting domestic success with Real Madrid next season rather than another Champions League title.
The Frenchman guided Los Blancos to the LaLiga Santander title during the 2016/17 campaign but Barcelona are on course for their fourth win in five years.
"We have won 33 league titles," Zidane said. "How many have Barcelona won? They've been doing well lately and you have to congratulate them and recognise this.
"But if we're talking about Madrid's figures, we have more league titles and I'm not saying this to defend myself, but because you've told me [Barcelona] are doing better in the league recently.
"We have to change this dynamic. I can tell you that we're going to try to start LaLiga Santander in the best way possible next season. We have to make LaLiga Santander our main objective next year."
Zidane takes his Real Madrid side to Getafe tomorrow, with their Madrid neighbours chasing a Champions League spot.
"What [Getafe] are doing is phenomenal," Zidane said. "It's a result of their work and we'll go there trying to win."
Vinicius Junior has returned to train with the main group after two months out with an ankle injury, but he will not feature at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
"He won't get any minutes tomorrow," his coach said. "He's been out for two months and he needs more time."
One player who could make a return from injury is Thibaut Courtois.
"He's ready and is available for the team," Zidane said of the Belgian.
The goalkeeper has fallen behind Keylor Navas in the pecking order since Zidane returned to the dugout and has been linked with a move away from the club.
"[Courtois and Navas] have contracts, it's my responsibility but it's not the time to talk about this," Zidane said. "It will be very clear for all to see next season. At the moment, I like things how they are."
Like any club, Real Madrid may have to sell players before they can spend big money on new arrivals, and Gareth Bale has been constantly linked with a summer exit.
"If you buy players, some have to leave," Zidane said. "But that's normal in a squad. What I'm seeing is that you're only asking me this when the situation is the same at every other club."
Karim Benzema's form has been one of the positive points of Madrid's otherwise disappointing campaign and there are reports that the club are looking to bring in a strike partner for the Frenchman.
"[Benzema] doesn't worry about playing as a lone striker or with someone else," said Zidane. "It's definitely been his best season. I don't think he has problems playing alongside another No. 9."

Prioritizing La Liga next season 🤔 but isn't UCL more important? I think Madrid realize that Barcelona are slowly but surely plan to have the most La Liga trophy and Real Madrid are realizing that. Real has 33 while Barça's including this season will be 26. And to think 10 years ago we had 19 compared to Real 31. Put on the 30 Copa Del Rey trophies while Real has 19, we are the Spanish champs. Vamos Barça! 🔵🔴💪

for the record; if barcelona wins La Liga this season then this was achieved by real madrid 26 years ago and if barcelona wins UCL then this was achieved 54 years ago by real madrid. Greatest Ever. #halamadrid.
