Zinedine Zidane’s stance on taking the Manchester United job revealed

Solskjaer teetering on the precipice

A 5-0 humiliation at Old Trafford by arch-rivals Liverpool is not something many managers could come back from. This too looks to be the case with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

While reports suggest that he will remain in the dugout for the clash with Tottenham Hotspur, now affectionately named “el sackico” on social media due to both Ole’s and Nuno’s job jeopardy, the feeling is that the Norwegian is a dead man walking in Manchester.

With a game against Manchester City to follow the clash with Spurs, it is difficult to see how on current form Manchester United pick up more than a single point from the pair of games, which will not be good enough for a side already 8 points off the top of the League.

To leave Ole in charge feels like prolonging the pain, whereas the plaster should really just be ripped off.

Zidane “not interested” in the job

One man who will not be replacing Solskjaer in the United hotseat, however, is Zinedine Zidane. The former Real Madrid legendary player and manager has been out of work since he left Real Madrid in the summer, and had been linked with the job previously.

However, as per Julien Laurens [Via ESPN], the World Cup winner is “not interested in managing Manchester United”, which will come as a blow to the Red Devils.

Reports have previously suggested that Zidane would only return to work for the French national team, and should he turn down a chance to move to Manchester United, it is hard to see these as exaggerated.
