Zlatan Ibrahimovic calls on LA Galaxy 'to wake up and do more'

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was unable to help his new side from falling to a third successive home loss on Saturday as they succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against New York Red Bulls.

The Red Bulls were the latest side to beat LA Galaxy in recent weeks and Ibrahimovic has called on his team to do more to turn their bad run around.

Life in Los Angeles got off to a magnificent start for the 36-year-old when he scored twice in their comeback against Los Angeles FC to win 4-3, but they have failed to reach those dizzy heights since.

Ibrahimovic was involved in both of Galaxy's goals as they came back from 2-0 down but they were unable to hold out for the point.

'It's all about us. We need to do more, much more,' Ibrahimovic said to ESPN.

'It's unacceptable, it's not okay, to lose three home games. This is the first time I lose three games in a row, so that is not only about me; it's a team effort.

'We need to do much more, that's for sure. We need to wake up'

The Swede is the club's top scorer so far this season with three goals but two of those came on his debut.

LA Galaxy currently sit in fifth in the Western Conference with 10 points from eight games and are beginning to fall adrift from the top of the table.

'I always say it's the small details that makes the difference,' Ibrahimovic continued.

'The small details that you don't see is the important details. [Whether] we play 4-4-2, 4-3-3, who plays, it doesn't matter. We need to follow the same path and the philosophy. We just need to find each other more and make it easy for each other.

'I don't know from last year to this year [what] the team needs, so I can't judge in that way. But today was better but it was not enough because I don't like to lose and it's not good to lose.'
