The ex-England midfielder believes the hierarchy at his old club were too hasty to hand the Norwegian the full-time post
Paul Ince has criticised the board of former club Manchester United for being so hasty in their decision to make Ole Gunnar Solskjaer permanent manager.
“I’m not here to call for any manager to be sacked – I’ve been there, and it’s not a nice feeling,” Ince told PaddyPower.
“But, I will reiterate what I said before and the board should never have made the decision with Ole as quickly as they did.
“What had he achieved to deserve that job? He went to Cardiff and took them down, then he went to Molde. So, what on earth makes the board think that he’s the right man for one of, if not the, biggest job in football?
“If they’d have waited until the end of the season and assessed the situation, I’m not sure whether they’d have appointed him. All they took into consideration was the excitement of PSG and a few other games.
“To go from Cardiff, to Molde, to Manchester United, you’ve got to be some manager. I’m looking at his staff, too, and aside from Micky Phelan they all seem so young. Even sometimes when I’m watching the game and I’m looking at the dugout and Ole’s speaking to them, they all seem to have no reaction. They look as if they don’t have a clue what’s going on.”
Ince suggested that Tottenham boss Pochettino would have been a better fit and would possibly have been attainable after Spurs lost the Champions League final.
“I always felt that Mauricio Pochettino should’ve been the man to take over after [Jose] Mourinho,” Ince continued.
“He’s a top-class manager, and people are calling him a risky choice, but Ole was the risky choice.
“Pochettino would still have issues, though. He’d need a couple of transfer windows, he’d need to clear out players, but it’s up to the board to decide whether they trust Ole to get the club where they need to be.
“I can’t answer that, but if Pochettino showed interest they would have a lot to think about.”

Every boss needs someone they can control and not someone who will go against their wish Ole can easily be controlled by the board, Ed, and also Ferguson, so that's why they believed he deserved the job. so many coaches were on ground then but they never said anything about it because they know what will favour them.

Paul Ince u are on point. I said it last season, the board were in a rush to appoint dat scam called Ole. He won't all those matches out of luck and just bcos the boys wanted Mourinho out. The board should have waited until the end of season and assess his matches b4 doing dat. I also agreed dat Pochetino would have loved to work at Manchester United and also Allegri was free. Ole tactics are so bad, playing some players out of position, selling the right players and keeping the wrong ones, favouring British player. Even if he is been given this job for the next 10 years. United won't survive.

Paul ince forgt about the great Alex Ferguson.. Ferguson also did struggle during his first second spell as a manager.. There's a different but not that much.. Changing manager every season is not gonna help.. if you plant a tree you're not gonna expect it to grow in a few days.. I think Ole did well in promoting young players, but still he needs to look for senior experience players, but that's up to the board, whether they grant him a permission to sign top players in the coming transfer or not.

Only because of the past history and the money that Man united has so the good coach sign with them otherwise no coach will successs with these scums of players in their position where you need to overhaul whole team around 96% then united will be contender.
