Who are the favourites to win the Champions League?
The current favourites to get their hands on the Champions League trophy as the knock-out stages heat up are Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s men were so close to securing their first-ever Champions League crown last season but ultimately fell short against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea, losing 0-1 in the final.
Despite dropping points to both PSG and RB Leipzig in the group stages, City still finished top of their group and blew beyond Sporting in the round of 16. Those performances combined with the quality they have through players such as Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva, it’s no surprise to see them top of the running to finally lift Europe’s most coveted trophy this season.
Champions League last-16 draw
RB Salzburg 2-8 Bayern Munich
Sporting Lisbon 0-5 Manchester City
Benfica 3-2 Ajax
Chelsea 4-1 Lille
Atletico Madrid 2-1 Manchester United
Villarreal 4-1 Juventus
Inter Milan 1-2 Liverpool
PSG 2-3 Real Madrid
Bookmaker’s ‘Dark Horses’ for the Champions League
The next two teams in the running after Manchester City are the their Premier League title rivals Liverpool, followed by 2020 winners Bayern Munich whose form is up and down right now but who could argue against Robert Lewandowski?
Real Madrid are next and you understand why given their phenomenal history in the competition. As 13-times winners they can never be written off and the dramatic nature of their comeback against PSG only solidified that.
The current holders Chelsea are by no means considered outsiders among fans, but their price with the bookmakers definitely sets them off as potential dark horses to get their hands on back-to-back European crowns. Things haven’t exactly been running smoothly on the domestic front for the Blues.
Champions League Golden Boot odds: Other markets
With Sebastian Haller now eliminated, the odds are saying Robert Lewandowski is favourite for the Champions League Golden Boot. Haller had led the way during the group stages but Lewandowski’s hat-trick against Salzburg plus the Ivorian’s elimination has given Lewy the edge.
After Lewandowski comes Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian marksman is on fire this season and justifying his place as second favourite. After him comes Karim Benzema, and while both men are a way back on 8 goals the form they are in, you just don’t want to rule them out.

Real Madrid isn't on the list because it's absurd to compare the goat(🐐) with minions. truth be told every club in the quarter final would be challenging Madrid for the title, with the way this version of Madrid is playing they can win the title and extend their dominance
