On March 11, Real Madrid will host Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
According to official Champions League regulations, any player who accumulates three yellow cards (or any odd number thereafter) from the start of the league stage will be suspended for one match. The accumulated yellow card count will only be reset after the Champions League quarter-finals.
For Real Madrid, Bellingham, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Huijsen, and Tchouaméni all have one yellow card each; one more would result in suspension. Carreras has accumulated four yellow cards, and another would also lead to suspension.
For Manchester City, Nico O'Reilly and Savinho are both just one yellow card away from a one-match suspension. If they receive a yellow card in the first leg against Real Madrid, they will be unable to participate in the second leg at home.
