According to AS, Getafe coach Bordalás will set a new record for most games coached in Spanish football history, reaching 868 matches in total, a milestone to be achieved in the upcoming game against Barcelona.
Bordalás's coaching career spans matches across La Liga, Segunda División, the now-defunct Segunda División B, and the current Primera Federación and Segunda Federación. He will surpass legendary coaches including Manolo Villanova, Roque Olsen, and Luis Aragonés. Before joining Getafe, Bordalás spent years coaching in lower leagues, eventually leading Getafe from Segunda División to La Liga and bringing them close to European qualification. Getafe plan to honor him during their match against Rayo Vallecano next Monday.

He noted that Bordalás maintains his passion year after year, working tirelessly to help players improve and is skilled at inspiring those around him to believe that hard work leads to results. Vidal added that Bordalás is demanding of both players and staff, yet trusts his team and shares responsibility. Off the pitch, he is humorous, caring, and supportive during difficult times.
Sergio Mora, a former player who worked under Bordalás at various clubs and levels, stated that Bordalás possesses the strongest winning mentality he has encountered in football, consistently pushing himself and his players to their limits every single day.
Getafe player Cabrera said that Bordalás is meticulous and strict, driving players and the team to excel, while his off-pitch humor helps ease tension on match days. Cabrera commented, "To me, he's like my football father." Arambarri noted that Bordalás has a genuine passion for football, which he instills in the team, and that they have always maintained a strong relationship.
Forward José Molina believes that players can improve and perform better by carefully listening to and absorbing Bordalás's daily instructions. He added that Bordalás is skilled at motivating players to give their all. Juan Iglesias praised Bordalás as humble and hardworking, capable of bringing out the best in players, while also serving as a friend and mentor.
