According to reports from AS, Dro has informed Flick of his decision to leave the club, leaving the head coach deeply disappointed.

The report adds that Barcelona has received bad news, as the Blaugrana are set to lose one of their most promising young stars. Dro has decided to depart Barcelona during the winter transfer window. In principle, his new club will pay a €6 million release clause to complete the signing. The player has currently received offers from several clubs in England and Germany.

According to AS, Borussia Dortmund is the frontrunner to sign the player. The Bundesliga side has long shown a strong interest in acquiring young talents of this caliber.

Clearly, Dro’s departure is a significant blow to Barcelona’s sporting management team led by Deco. The management had originally planned to extend his contract immediately after he turned 18. In fact, during the team’s recent trip to Saudi Arabia, they even prepared a birthday cake to celebrate his coming of age.

Dro’s decision to leave caught the club completely off guard. He has already informed Flick of his wish to depart Barcelona and continue his professional career elsewhere. The German manager had placed great trust in Dro, previously taking him along on preseason tours to Japan and South Korea. Dro made his first-team debut for Barcelona in a friendly against Vissel Kobe, scoring a spectacular goal.

Dro Fernández and his representatives believe that with the returns of Olmo and Fermín, his opportunities for playing time at Barcelona would be extremely limited. Therefore, after receiving multiple offers, he ultimately decided to take the step to leave.

Barcelona’s stance is that the player lacks patience—a situation reminiscent of Marc Guiu, who recently moved to Chelsea—while other squad members have chosen to wait for their chances.
