AS: Pedri will not play against Villarreal; Barça decided to rest him to recover

According to Spanish media outlet AS reporter Javi Miguel, in order to protect Pedri, the club will not allow him to play in Barcelona's away game against Villarreal in the 17th round of La Liga.

The reporter stated that all indications suggest Pedri will not travel with the team for the match against Villarreal. The player's injury is not serious (only an overload on his left calf soleus muscle), but the club, out of caution, has chosen to prioritize his rest.

The club's original plan was to rest him after last week's match against Osasuna, but in the Guadalajara game, with the score still close, he had to come on as a substitute for 15 minutes to help the team secure a win.
