Achraf Hakimi's potential has always been obvious to those at Real Madrid but few could've predicted such a rapid rise during his two-year loan at Borussia Dortmund.
The 21-year-old has been a key member of the Dortmund side which has contested for the Bundesliga title in both seasons in Germany.
That leap on the field has been reflected in his market value, which has gone up from five million euros when he departed Los Blancos in the summer of 2018, to 60 million euros now.
His versatility, pace and technical qualities have seen him become one of the divisions' biggest threats down either flank and has even caught the attention of Bayern Munich as a result.
Achraf left Madrid as a European champion, but had been unable to break into the first team, with just 1,315 minutes spread over 17 games under his belt.
However, his qualities were evident in those brief appearances which led Dortmund to take him to the Bundesliga, much like Dani Carvajal did in 2012/13 when he joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan.
The full-back has already expressed to MARCA his desire to return to his parent club and succeed at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
"If Madrid recalled me, I would be the first to say yes," Achraf said.
"The coach knows me very well, but now I am focused on Dortmund, and my intention is to develop here. Then will see."
Achraf's loan deal ends this summer and a decision will be made by Los Blancos on whether he will form part of the first team squad for 2020/21.
