Although he was expected to return to training on Sunday, Sergio Busquets appeared at Barcelona's training ground to work out on Wednesday.
New signings began the pre-season preparations last week and they were joined by the Spanish midfielder, Ansu Fati and Carles Alena.
All three footballers also underwent coronavirus tests.
Busquets had previously a private talk with Ronald Koeman, who informed him that he is not counting on him as an undisputed starter for next season.
The rest of the first-team players are scheduled to join on August 30 along with the medical and coaching staff.
The objective is to prepare in the best possible way for the 2020/21 campaign, which is set to start next month.
