Alba: Messi and Yamal are of different level; Messi IS GOAT

Former Barcelona player, ex-Spanish international and current Inter Miami CF footballer Jordi Alba appeared on the programme El Larguero, discussing numerous topics from his career.

Talking About Yamal

Alba: "I think he is an extremely excellent player. But there are other outstanding players too, like De Jong, Pedri, Gavi... However, comparing him to Messi? In my opinion, there is simply no comparison at all. Messi is one of a kind and unrivaled."

Talking About Messi's Departure from Barça

Alba: "I don’t know exactly what happened because I never talked to him about it, but seeing Messi leave Barça overnight was really hard to accept. It wasn’t the ideal way for him, but I believe there will be a tribute ceremony for him. We all thought he would renew his contract... I only found out about it through the media. It was a heavy blow for everyone."

Will You Return to Camp Nou Like Messi?

Alba: "No, no, no (laughs). Messi is the greatest player of all time, and he deserves to have the key to Camp Nou. I will go to watch matches with my family and enjoy it in another way. Messi didn’t say anything to me about this; to be honest, I never asked him either. It was my father who told me about it, but this isn’t a topic I’m particularly concerned about. I’ve always been able to handle pressure well, whether it’s criticism or praise. It was an honor to spend so much time with him both on and off the pitch. I talked to him when he was playing for Paris, but we never brought up this topic again afterwards. He didn’t like the way he left. I hope he gets the tribute he deserves, and I’m sure that will happen. It will be a wonderful celebration, and everyone is looking forward to that moment."

Naming the New Camp Nou After "Messi"?

Alba: "I don’t know, I don’t know... They wouldn’t ask me questions like this here (laughs). I don’t think Messi would want something like that. We never discussed this topic, but the name ‘Camp Nou’ itself is already great. Whatever decision is made will be positive, and Camp Nou is one of a kind."

Talking About Suárez

Alba: "We don’t know if he will renew his contract or what the status of his contract is. This is a decision that each person has to make for themselves. This is no longer a matter of changing teams; it’s about saying goodbye to a stage of life. For me, this decision wasn’t hard to make. I will feel regretful, but I have fully accepted it."

Talking About Messi's Form

Alba: "I see that he even has a stronger competitive drive now. He seems really happy here. I don’t know if he will stay here for another two years or three... It’s an honor to share my career with them."

Inter Miami's Possible Championship

Alba: "Cincinnati is in second place, and we’re in third. This is a final. Here, you never know which match will be your last. It feels strange. I hope we can advance and play in that final, then compete for the championship against another team from the league."

Have You Lost Your Passion?

Alba: "I still enjoy myself during matches, but daily life has become a bit of a struggle. It’s mostly because I have less time to spend with teammates or staff, and the passion I had when I was 20 gradually fades away."

Talking About Xavi Supporting Font

Alba: "They have a good relationship, but I don’t know anything about this matter at all. I’m completely out of touch with some things in Spain. However, this photo makes both sides look good. If Xavi has decided to support him, there must be a reason for it. As for Laporta, I don’t think he needs my support. Supporting a certain candidate? It depends on what they can offer me (laughs). No, I won’t have much time now because I have new projects to work on. I also want to spend more time with my family."
