Former Barcelona defender Alba gave an interview to DAZN, where he spoke about Messi and the criteria for the Ballon d'Or.
"Who Will Win the Ballon d'Or?"
Alba said: "I've always said that as long as Messi is still playing, he's the best player.
"The Ballon d'Or... sometimes people look at the trophies a player has won, their performance in the World Cup, European Championship, Champions League, and league. But we must focus on who is the best player, and in my opinion, that's Messi."
Alba concluded: "If the Ballon d'Or isn't awarded to Messi, then I would undoubtedly give the award to Yamal."
